Windows, developed by Microsoft, is still one of the most popular operating systems.
The release of Windows 11 came six years after the last version and it promises to provide a new experience to its users, in an increasingly hybrid world. But, anyway, what can we expect from this new version? Our #winprover, Ângelo Nogueira, system administrator, answered this question and shared some of the news about this version:
- Design and Interface: Windows 11 features a new design with a centered Start menu and taskbar.
- Android App Integration: It is now possible to download Android apps on Windows 11.
- Virtual desktop: It is easier to create and toggle between different virtual desktops in Windows 11 compared to Windows 10.
- Snap Layouts and Snap Groups: Now it is easier to group different sets of windows and apps and move between a primary to a secondary screen, thanks to “Snap Layouts” and “Snap Groups”, which make you forget about the much-used “Alt-Tab”.
- Teams on the Taskbar: Microsoft Teams is now integrated right in the Windows 11 taskbar in order to make video calling easier.
- Widgets: It is now possible to launch widgets from the Taskbar in Windows 11 to see at-a-glance information on weather, news, stocks and more.
- Touchscreen, voice and pen support: Microsoft claims that Windows 11 is now easier and more optimized for tablets.
- Xbox tech: Windows 11 gets certain features found in Xbox consoles, like “Auto HDR” and “DirectStorage”, to improve gaming.
